Custom Cabinets, Shelves, Cases and Other Wooden Creations

Welcome to my site of custom-built wood creations. I will build items like this for you. This diverse collection includes cases, shelves, cabinets, stands, frames, doors and even beds. And they are all being used. None of these creations has been posed in a designer home; they are either shown installed or before being handed over to a family member. Some of those in use are dusty and a few even have cobwebs -- and you'll see how they look in a home with down-to-earth people responding to their own practical needs.

A memory-foam mattress requires a flat, solid bottom. This bed was designed to accommodate such a mattress along with two solid people as well. Just the bed's foot peeks out from below.

Bed frame is almost finished, with a simple headboard of 15-inch pine. The feet are in place, but will be reinforced.

All the edges are rounded and sanded smooth to keep bedclothes and errant limbs from being damaged. There are no splinters with this bed frame.

Commercial corbels are used for the feet; decoration will eventually be added to match, along the length of the support brace -- but the bed just had to be slept in!
