Mass of Mercury augmented chamber orchestra, SATB chorus (1999) Commissioned by the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra, it lacks a Gloria, which I was working on when Time Ran Out. On the other hand, it does feature a Processional.
The text is straight from the Roman Catholic Eucharist. I’d
considered giving the text a physics spin along the lines of Einstein’s
E=mc², where E is energy, m is the equivalent mass and c is the
speed of light, but the rhyming structure got overly abstruse and the
time signature only made sense to quantum theorists. | Urban Renewaltz full orchestra (2001) Written
for the Vermont Youth Orchestra as a dedication for their new home, the
Elley-Long Music Center in Colchester, Vt. To date, the Orchestra has
played the Urb a dozen times, including this performance from their 2004 Carnegie Hall concert. |
A Tangoed Web chamber orchestra with solo percussion (2002) Commissioned
by the Vermont Symphony Orchestra for its 2002 “Made In Vermont
statewide tour,” this percussion concerto employs non-Western
percussion instruments: a Tar (Middle Eastern frame drum), a Cajon
(Andean box drum that doubled as his seat), three Ewe drums from Ghana,
a pair of timbales, a cowbell with foot pedal, two cymbals, a foot
drum, as well as other instruments from Asia, South America, Africa and
JC Penney. | Forbidden Kitchen Originally scored
for eight instruments, it was orchestrated in 2008 to coincide with the
75th anniversary of the taking of the first known photograph of the
Loch Ness Monster.full orchestra (2006/2008) |
This cell is empty. How awful! Who among the visitors to this webpage would like to right this grievous wrong and commission a really fine composition to be eventually posted here? |
