These records were purchased by Joszef Báthory in Manhattan in the early 20th century, and remained in the family for a century. They have been passed on the David Neal Lewis for archiving. Meanwhile, the following records were transferred to digital form in January 2013, with the original transfer stored in exact condition. The files below are restorations done from those transfers (rumble, clicks, pops removed as much as possible, noise reduction, and some remastering).
Notes:
Most of the titles and performers are transcribed (but without accents) from the labels. Spelling errors have
been preserved.
The image of the labels is embedded in the mp3 files for details. Please contact me for matrix numbers, etc.
Some sides were transferred in the wrong order.
Recordings were mostly about 1910, with the electrical ones about 1925.
Please contact me if you have biographical info on any of the performers, especially Király Ernö
