Custom Cabinets, Shelves, Cases and Other Wooden Creations

Welcome to my site of custom-built wood creations. I will build items like this for you. This diverse collection includes cases, shelves, cabinets, stands, frames, doors and even beds. And they are all being used. None of these creations has been posed in a designer home; they are either shown installed or before being handed over to a family member. Some of those in use are dusty and a few even have cobwebs -- and you'll see how they look in a home with down-to-earth people responding to their own practical needs.

The complete home office went into use before it was painted. Need trumps art.

The finished cabinet, desk, shelves and bookcase are in place.

The cabinet is for office supplies, with a bookshelf above and a solid top for additional items.

The desktop itself was the only piece brought up from the former kitchen office. That would have been replaced, too, but it was covered with phone numbers and other contact information.

The trickiest part was using the kneewall area and harmonizing it with the Velux windows. Four useful bookshelves emerged, and the area below has a lift-out panel for long-term storage (as does the cabinet on the left side of the desk) The top shelf holds books horizontally, and a filing cabinet drops perfectly into the leftover space.

The curves and angles at the point where shelves meet is especially attractive.

In no time, the office was absolutely packed with activity -- and still had not been painted.
